“Dar” means “home” in Arabic and the literal meaning of “Darat al-Qahwa” is “The House of Coffee”.
Darat al-Qahwa’s history dates back to the late 1960’s with the sale of imported green beans to the local market. In 1970, the first Darat al-Qahwa opened in the “Queen’s Building” in al Balad, downtown Jeddah. It quickly became a local landmark and the most popular café in the city.
With a key area of focus highlighting the brand’s tradition as roasters and artisans of quality coffee.
We continue to offer the widest variety of quality, affordable coffee: Arabic, Turkish, American & Espresso varieties alongside a wide selection of specialty products (Steam-infused, Cold Brew, Siphon, etc.).
We have also created a popular selection of Manaeesh, Simit, Sandwiches, and Arabia and Western cakes & pastries.
